Salka Gullbrá (Salvor Gullbra Thorarinsdottir) is an Icelandic theater and performance maker, stand-up comedian, culture critic and activist born in 1992. She has worked on diverse theater projects as a director, writer, and performer.
One of her ongoing projects is Krakkaveldi(e.Kidarchy), a performance project which started as a children’s political party on stage, but has since expanded to being an ongoing performance project in collaboration with children working on challenging the power balance between kids and adults with their performances.
Kidarchy’s performances have been featured at FiNN Festival in Norway, the Reykjavík Art Festival, Reykjavik Dance Festival as well as Children’s Culture Festival in Reykjavik. Salvör was part of ASSITEJ’s Next Generation Programme in 2019.
She’s interested in disruptions, cringe, being a hater, hope, making jokes and investigating what’s worth risking together.
Salka is currently based in Rotterdam.
